Who it's for

Who is breathwork actually for?

Most people arrive with something specific that isn't shifting — not with a wellness goal.

A group lying down to rest during a breathwork session

You know what you should be doing. Your body hasn't caught up.

This is common among people who already work in healing, coaching or care. You have the knowledge — self-love, boundaries, regulation — and your nervous system has not yet caught up with it. The gap between knowing and feeling is where people slide into demotivation, or into a positivity that is being performed rather than felt.

To genuinely feel positive and have energy, the discomfort underneath usually has to be met first. Ordinary life gives you almost no space to do that. Breathing is how we meet it: you breathe toward the discomfort rather than around it, and then you breathe through it — with someone there for that part.

Stressed, but you've stopped trying to explain it.

We are told to express ourselves, to say what is wrong. But said to whom — and who actually understands it? At some point it becomes easier to stop explaining. The feeling doesn't leave when you stop talking about it; it stays in the body. Over time that can show up as heaviness, muscles that never fully let go, a tight throat, a clenched jaw. Those are signals, and they are workable through the breath rather than through more explaining.

Sleeping badly, digesting badly, and nothing obvious is wrong.

If your body has been running in a fight-or-flight state for a long time, sleep and digestion are often the first things to suffer, because both depend on the opposite state — rest and digest. The approach here is simple breathing practices that support the shift into that calmer state, which may in turn make sleep and digestion easier. This is a wellbeing practice, not a treatment: if sleep or digestive problems persist, please see a doctor.

●

Overthinking that doesn't switch off, especially at night.

●

Difficulty sleeping or difficulty digesting, with no clear medical cause.

●

A tight throat or clenched jaw you only notice when someone points it out.

●

Repeating patterns you fully understand and still repeat.

●

Unexpressed emotion — stressed, but past the point of explaining it.

●

Helping others all day and having nothing left for yourself.

These are wellbeing practices that support relaxation, body awareness and stress management. They are not medical or mental-health treatment and do not replace clinical care. If you are currently experiencing a serious or acute mental-health concern, this may not be the right service — say so and we will be straightforward with you about it.

Our pace

We build intensity gradually. We don't force a release.

If you have tried breathwork before and found it too intense, or felt it wasn't adapted to you, this is the difference.

How is breathwork at Hong Breath & Heal paced?

Sessions build intensity gradually rather than pushing you hard from the start. Breathing is used to bring you toward the edge of what you are feeling, and the work stays within your limit — never past it. If a release comes, it is guided. If it doesn't come, nothing is forced and the session is not treated as a failure.

There is no shouting, no pressure to perform an emotion, and no expectation that you break through anything on schedule. What happens may be an emotional release, some spontaneous movement, or the body shaking or trembling — and it may equally be none of that. Both are ordinary.

Not this

Not pushing, not shouting.

Breathwork has a reputation for being confrontational — go hard, break through, catharsis on demand. That is not how sessions are run here, and it is the most common reason people who have tried breathwork elsewhere come back to try it again.

This instead

Build, meet the edge, stay within your limit.

Intensity is layered in gradually. Breathing brings you to the edge of what is there, then the work stays inside what you can hold. You keep control of your own intensity the entire time.

Why it holds

Reading the signs, choosing the technique.

Different breathing techniques do different things, and the right one depends on where you are in the session. Trauma-aware and biodynamic breathwork training is what makes it possible to read those signs and adjust, rather than run one fixed sequence for everyone.

Your head does not need to understand it for it to pass through. Knowing more about it, in fact, tends to help surprisingly little.
The training behind that. Trauma-aware breath coach training, and a 100-hour accredited Biodynamic Breathwork training. Both are specifically about working within a person's limit — recognising the signs, and knowing which breathing technique to use at which point. This is a wellbeing practice, not psychotherapy or crisis support.
How a session runs

Active first. The sound bath closes it.

Most sessions ask you to relax on command while your mind is still moving at the pace of the day. The order here is deliberate.

1

Notice

Observe how you are breathing right now — faster, shallower, held — and what that reflects. Nothing is corrected yet.

Arrive
2

Be aware

Structured attention on body, breath and emotional state, so background tension becomes something you can name.

Locate
3

Practise

Guided techniques you can repeat on your own — at a desk, before a hard conversation, at the end of a long day.

Take away

Who it suits

Recurring patterns that insight alone hasn't shifted.

People who get triggered easily, feel stuck in the same emotional loops, or have done plenty of thinking and reading without the body catching up.

What we work with

Breathing, body awareness, and what surfaces.

Breathing practices, somatic exploration, guided reflection, and sound where appropriate. The aim is to notice how stress and emotion show up physically, and to build practical tools for it.

How it's facilitated

Gentle and progressive, not intense.

Trauma-aware facilitation. Nothing is forced, you can stop at any point, and practices are introduced gradually rather than at maximum intensity.

A note on suitability. This is a wellness and breathwork practice, not mental-health treatment or crisis support. If you are currently experiencing a serious or acute mental-health concern, this may not be the right service. You are welcome to ask if you are unsure — I will be straightforward about whether it is appropriate.

About Hong

Facilitator and accredited trainer.

Hong is an HRD Corp (HRDC) Accredited Trainer and the facilitator behind Hong Breath & Heal, the practice operating under Prana Unda Inn Wellness. He delivers breathwork, somatic awareness and sound healing across Malaysia — 1-on-1 sessions in Petaling Jaya or online, group sessions across the Klang Valley, and on-site workplace stress-management programmes for Malaysian organisations in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.

Training is grounded in over 100 hours of biodynamic breathwork, trauma-aware facilitation and certified sound-healing practice, alongside more than a decade of personal work in emotional health. Sessions are facilitated with a gentle, progressive approach rather than intensity for its own sake — which matters in a workplace setting, where participants are colleagues and the room needs to stay professional.

Why I work this way.

I understood the pattern. But why did it still affect me?

For more than ten years I explored emotional healing, inner-child work and family relationships. I gained real insight into why I was easily triggered and how those patterns formed. What I slowly discovered was that intellectual understanding did not always mean my body had let go.

Breathwork gave me another doorway.

Rather than analysing everything again, breathwork helped me meet what was still being felt in the body. Sometimes another layer surfaced — even when I thought I had already released it.

Release is not about forcing something out.

It is about gradually reaching a place where the body can soften and let go, until the old experience no longer carries the same charge. That is why I facilitate gently, trauma-aware and progressively, rather than chasing intensity — and why that approach transfers well into a workplace, where the people in the room are colleagues.

Before you book

How much is a 1-on-1 breathwork session?

RM238 for a single 90-minute session, or RM720 for a 4-session journey — RM180 per session, saving RM232 against booking four singly. Sessions run online or in person in Petaling Jaya. Every new client starts with a complimentary 30-minute consultation.

What happens in the free 30-minute consultation?

It is a conversation, not a session. We talk through what you are experiencing, what you have already tried, and whether 1-on-1 work is a suitable fit. If it is not the right fit, or if what you need is closer to therapy than to a breathwork practice, I will say so. There is no obligation to book afterwards.

Do you work with individuals, groups and companies?

All three. Private 1-on-1 breathwork and somatic coaching, group breathwork and sound healing sessions across the Klang Valley, and on-site corporate stress-recovery programmes for Malaysian workplaces including an HRD Corp claimable option. The underlying approach is the same; the format and pacing change.

How far in advance do I need to book?

For a 1-on-1 session, usually a few days, depending on availability. For a company session, the 90-minute on-site format can be arranged in as little as three business days, while the HRD Corp claimable programme needs roughly one month for grant processing before the training date.

Are sessions run in English or Chinese?

Both, plus Bahasa Malaysia for corporate sessions. Say which you prefer when you book. For company programmes the delivery language is agreed in advance and stated in the written proposal.

Is Hong Breath & Heal the same as Prana Unda Inn Wellness?

Yes. Hong Breath & Heal is the practice name you will see on the website, Instagram and LinkedIn. Prana Unda Inn Wellness is the SSM-registered Malaysian company it operates under, and the name that appears on proposals and invoices.
